‘Living whimsically’ is my favourite new years resolution. Whether you’re listening to music on the way to work or taking note of something random, for every mundane task there is a more glamorous way to execute it.

Many of us are regressing in how we consume media, it’s not cool to walk around with airpods anymore, they add nothing to the fit. But wired headphones are making a comeback. They give off the perfect amount of 2000s nostalgia whilst still being practical. What we carry with us everyday is a perfect summary of who we are. I will be judging you off what’s in your bag.

The notes app is officially out of style. Louise Carmen’s new found popularity (the ogs know she’s always been that girl) has been all over our feeds, from celebrities indulging in the trend to others avoiding the high prices and diying her leather back journels. What does this trend tell us about how we want to be percieved? So chic that we carry a pocketbook where ever we go. If we pull out an old fashioned notebook rather than the notes app then we can say ‘see world our attention spam is fine’. It seems to be another way to be present and live spontaneously. If you have a notebook that is personally decorated to suit you in your bag, I think you’re cool.

What other knicknacks reflect our character? A compact mirror or maybe even a signature pen. The idea of being spontaneous is something that is starting to reflect in upcoming fashion trends, surely you’ve heard of dressing like ‘the disgraced socialite’. Living whimsically may be the theme of 2026.
